About Launch Centers & Young Adult Focus

Launch Centers serves young adults typically ages 18 to 35 who are experiencing mental health disorders, substance use or both (dual diagnosis). At our Los Angeles location, the program is geared toward emerging adults navigating life transitions, independence and purpose.

Young-adult programs recognize that individuals in the 18-35 range often face unique challenges such as “failure to launch” trajectories, uncertain employment or education status, peer/relationship issues and co-occurring substance use. Launch Centers combines clinical treatment with life-skills, career/educational coaching and supportive community to meet that developmental stage.

Services & Treatment Approach

We treat a wide range of mental health conditions including anxiety disorders, mood disorders (like depression and bipolar mood disorder), OCD, trauma/PTSD, personality disorders, thought disorders (e.g., schizoaffective), ADHD and co-occurring substance use disorders.

There are eight main areas of work, which we call Pillars. All combined, they lead to the ultimate goal of integration. We find all of these areas deeply important to explore for those in treatment. Our evidence-based and holistic modalities include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness. In parallel, we offer life skills development (including budgeting, time management, and meal planning), career/educational support (such as resume preparation, interview preparation, and college coaching), and a sober peer community. We have spent the last few years developing our program and all the elements that help us ensure that our clients are prepared to face the world.

At Launch Centers, we offer a continuum of care, including Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and standard Outpatient (OP) for dual-diagnosis mental health and substance use. The PHP level of care includes 6 hours of clinical services per day, 5 days a week, including family therapy and a weekly parent support group every Wednesday at 4 PM PST via Zoom. The IOP level of care provides 3 hours of clinical services a day, for a minimum of 3 or up to 5 days each week (9 to 15 hours total). An evening track is also available Monday – Thursday nights to allow clients with jobs or high school and college students the opportunity for structured clinical care while attending school or work simultaneously.

Process, Duration & Practical Questions

Every plan is individualized and voluntary, which means that the program truly varies person to person.

The process begins with a phone or online inquiry, followed by an insurance verification and phone assessment to determine the clinically appropriate level of care. Once admitted, a personalized treatment plan is developed that aligns clinical goals (therapy, psychiatry) with supportive goals (housing, life-skills, vocational/educational support).

Yes. Launch Centers works with many major private insurance providers on an in-network basis, and several on a PPO/out-of-network basis for mental health and substance use treatment. It does not accept Medicaid/Medicare at this time. A free and confidential insurance benefits check is provided that will provide families with specific daily, weekly and monthly financial expectations.

Outcomes, Support & Aftercare

Yes. After a client goes through the formal program we offer an Alumni program with a robust and supportive community. They meet weekly in a support group and participate in sober activities together.

We specifically design programs around emerging-adult issues like career guidance, incomplete education, self-esteem, identity development and lack of life-skills. Beyond treating symptoms, we integrate career and academic coaching, strengthen peer communities and support clients in rediscovering passion and purpose which help to avoid repeated cycles of treatment without progression.

Launch Centers Treatment was a major help to me. The therapists and staff genuinely cared about me and truly helped me to make a plan for my future. My personal therapists helped me to discover where some of my deeper issues came from. All of the staff worked tirelessly with me to talk through my issues, or just about life, and offered realistic solutions to my current problems and situation. All of the staff went above and beyond and advocated relentlessly for me.

This place changed my life! I’ve had good laughs, good cries, shared a lot of heart to heart moments and grew a loving bond with everyone at Launch Centers. I will always be grateful! I really do miss it time to time. I highly recommend Launch Centers!

  • Jenna S.

Launch changed our lives. Our family had been battling for years to breakthrough to our brother. No amount of rehab or detox had made a difference. He was listless, lifeless and helpless. We feared for his life everyday. The spirit of, repetition in, core values, appreciation of life and dignity and respect that we found through Launch are unparalleled. I can say with full confidence that we never would have seen my “real” brother again if not for this truly magical combination. We were and still are especially grateful for his over-the-top therapist. Her commitment to his privacy and success coupled with her unwavering contact with any and all of us is what bridged our 3,000 mile separation from him.
